Patrick Studios Australia (PSA) is now one of the most recognized performing arts institutions in Australia and currently the biggest fulltime dance-focused performing arts institution in Victoria.  Patrick Studios Australia is a young studio but has already made its mark on the industry.  Our graduates are seen in all major productions across Australia and abroad and are recognized as being trained from a more athletic and physical standard than has been seen in this country for a long time.

In 2011 PSA is excited to broaden its educational scope by offering a Fulltime Music Theatre Course, directed by one of Australia's leading musical theatre choreographers, Andrew Hallsworth.  Building on the school's strong dance reputation and complimenting it with intense drama and vocal training, Andrew Hallsworth and Patrick Studios Australia will provide a unique Music Theatre Course aimed at preparing students for a successful career in the Entertainment industry.

Having worked in the theatre industry for more than 20 years, spanning all three theatre capitals of the world, Andrew Hallsworth is thrilled to partner with Todd Patrick and Patrick Studios Australia to launch the new course in 2011.

Andrew has won a Green Room Award for Best Choreography and Helpmann Award Nominations for literally every show that he has choreographed, the latest being The Drowsy Chaperone for The Melbourne Theatre Company and The Boy From Oz for The Production Company.

Drawing on Andrew's experience as a choreographer in Australia, London's West End and Broadway this cutting-edge course will expose students to industry leaders who will teach and prepare them for the Musical Theatre and Acting worlds that await the next company of talented and vibrant young entertainers.

ALL of the teachers in the course are currently working in many areas the theatre industry and their passion and willingness to get the next generation polished and ready for action is our commitment.

Acceptance in to the course is by audition only.

Patrick Studios Australia offers a limited number of scholarships directly to students and in association with Bendigo Bank.  The scholarships are only for students who come to the scheduled audition.  Scholarships will be offered after the student accepts his/her position and announced at the commencement of the course (deposit fees are not included in the scholarship amount).  Students wishing to apply for a scholarship are asked to prepare an essay stating their current financial situation, an explanation of what they wish to achieve from the course, and a focussed explanation of their career goals and aspirations.
