A Chorus Line

A huge congratulations to Euan Doidge and Samantha Dodemaide who have recently started rehearsing for A Chorus Line.  Euan will be playing 'Paul' while Samantha will be 'Lois' and understudy for Cassie!  What a great way to finish their year of Musical Theatre training.

PSA Wins "Immersed"

PSA's Fulltime Performing Arts students took part in "Immersed" on September 12th at The National Theatre, St Kilda.  Created by Paul Malek, "Immersed" is a celebration of Melbourne's Dance Community.  All of the leading fulltime schools took part as well as numerous contemporary dance companies.

Up for grabs that night was an award for Best Performance as voted by the audience and PSA won with its performance of "Black Swan".  The prize was awarded by producers Cornerstone Events and is a production package worth $6,000.

Geelong Competitions

PSA troupes won every section entered over the weekend at the Geelong Competitions.  Amazing effort everyone!

Kismet

Congratulations to Jacinta Seivers and Mark Hutchinson who performed in The Production Company's staging of "Kismet" last week.  Also appearing were 10 current PSA Students: Josh Austin, Samantha Bruzzese, Daniel Camilleri, Nicolas Mena, Natalia Papaska, Trent Philipsz, Christopher Politis, Liana Ragusa, Claire Thompson and Simone Woolley.

PSA's 5th Birthday Fundraiser - August 29th

2011 marks the 5th Birthday of Patrick Studios Australia (PSA).  From its humble beginnings in a church hall in East St Kilda, PSA is now one of the largest and most successful performing arts schools in the country.  PSA graduates can be found performing all around the world in musicals, cabarets, amusement parks, and cruise ships.

To help celebrate this milestone and look to the future, PSA is holding a celebrity-filled event on Monday 29th August aptly titled “Building the Dream.”

The event will be held at the newly re-launched GH Hotel in St Kilda which has generously donated the venue for the evening.  The night will be hosted by Colette Mann and will include performances by:

  • Alex Rathgeber (Anything Goes, The Boy from Oz)

  • Kate Alexa (Liberation Records)

  • Sally Bourne (The Boy from Oz)

Phoenix Competitions

Congratulations to all the PSA students who competed at the recent Phoenix Competitions in troupes or solos/duos/trios.  The results achieved were nothing short of spectacular.  We have received amazing feedback from all corners not only regarding your performances, but the wonderful way you all conducted yourselves, supported each other and represented the school.  We couldn't be prouder!
